I had a look at the comapny's website. They are using feed wheat which is not used for human consumption and is not that great for animals either. It needs less fertiliser than normal wheat. My thought is whether the land would be better used for something else. Pasture for livestock? Its suprising ...

I did say spin, not "not being factual". Not the same thing. So they can cherry pick some data and make a big soundbite to suit their agenda. The use of Renewable Energy Foundation as a name lends artificial credibility - I even heard them quoted as "a renewable energy industry body&q...

REF are classic spin merchants. Rather remind me of the No2AV campaign! Their very name is an exercise in media manipulation.

BWEA seem ok to me, do you have any examples of dodgy statements from them? Don't know about AWEA.

I am wondering what this will mean. Any development that can contribute to economic growth/jobs, should be waved through? Do windfarms fit into that? What about new grid infrastructure? What about other kinds of power stations? How do homes fit into that. They are not providing employment, except in...

Sorry, might be getting confused here between capacity factor and load factor, are they separate things? FF plant have load factors 50-80%, are you talking also about capacity credit? To me, load factor is certainly useful, to compare windfarms and wind sites. Its obviously preferable to place a tur...

Ah, but Danish CO2 from the electricity sector seems to be on a downward trend, though I have so far limited access to data. Overall CO2 emissions are related particularly to heating, you know DK is a bit cold sometimes! Still they manage to have a bit less per capita carbon emissions than the UK. A...

Inspector, I heard these comments from various multiple folk including an irate letter to my local paper! Carbon intensity is simply CO2 in g per KWh. So, I get the point that capacity load factor can be useful in estimating costs per MWh which is certainly useful in evaluating different generating ...

Load factor for Denmark looks then not as good as UK (or Ireland, or Spain?), but better than Germany! Its useful for comparing between windfarms, indicative of "windiness". I can't see any point to compare with other generating methods. Certainly not with thermal plants where the fuel is ...

trying to get a bush to grow in the corner of my garden where nothing else will grow. this year we have enough for a pie, no more.

Still a lot of ripening to be done at this time of year

wild are much tastier and probably even more nutritious, I suppose.

correction, the 19% is the share of total generated electricity, not the capacity factor?

I have been investigating wind power in Denmark as I've heard many comments like ...they are moving away from wind power. ..they have higher carbon intensity than other countries with less wind power First, we got the message that the Danish government now aims for carbon free electricty by 2050, so...

hey, Inspector, you're welcome to go through this Lords committee report. I am surprised you did not have it already. Well, Inspector, thanks for clearing that up a bit....so you accept wind can do something at least! I get the point that its possible that running a thermal plant on part load is less efficient than on full load, and that is also applies to some extent to standing reserve. However, there are plenty ...

Well, Inspector its a fair enough question. I have a scientific background and am not that impressed by quotes from a website like "windwatch.org". I find that the data in these kinds of reports is ok, but what is also important in the report is the discussion, conclusions and surrounding ...
