I've just about got all my kit together now.. decent rucksack, sleeping bag, bivvy bag, gortex clothing, boots, cooking equipment etc.

I was thinking sometime in mid/late November? Should be nice and cold by then :D

Glad to hear you made it Koba. I'm thinking of doing a hiking trip to Wales if anyone is interested? Just 3 or 4 days on terrain, hiking and sleeping rough. I have a van and could take 3 other people + rucksacks.

They could use their position to put pressure on the Govt regarding PO.

If the Govt started using oil revenue to create a less oil dependent infrastructure, then every time the price of oil goes up we would have more money going into preparing the country.

Hi Banddidoz I think the approach to take with them is to subtly suggest that they should call for Blair to help them "get off oil", because merely leaving it to "the market" is just going to ruin them. That why I said: I strongly urge that what you really should be doing now is ...

What you need to do is send a simple and easy to read email explaining what peak oil is to the main organisers. Here's one I sent this morning to the 3 main people at www.lesstaxonfuel.co.uk (see contact page). I also sent one to David Handley of www.farmersforaction.org (and got a rather snotty rep...
