Hi Doris, very kind words from you. thank you. It really is encouraging that readers, having finished the books, are going on the net to do they're own research. That's exactly what I'd hoped for. So thanks again for that. Spread the word though. Talk about PO to your friends, and please lend out yo...

Hi there emor' I'm glad LAST LIGHT did its job with you. Please do pass it on, I don't begrudge not getting sales, just as long as it gets read and PO gets a chance to be discussed. FYI, there's a sequal coming out in 3 weeks called AFTERLIGHT, which follows the same characters 10 years after the co...

April 2010 is the release date for this.

I actually typed 'THE END' a couple of days ago...and I feel drained. It's a pretty grim, with a bittersweet ending.

Thanks for your comments fifthcolumn. It's funny...(well, maybe not funny-ha-ha) but it's not peak oil that seems to be doing us in, but 'peak money'. Ironically, with the world in recession there's a dip in demand for our finite reserves of oil. Whilst this crash is painful for everyone, perhaps th...

Something that would be useful to me, is anyone with firsthand experience of, and detailed knowledge of the layout of a north sea oil rig.

Some of the story takes place in such a location...and knowing the typical layout of a rig, terms, etc would be very useful!

There's definately room in this sequel for my drawing inspiration from you guys. I'm setting it some years after the crash, when the dust has settled and we get a look at what kind of people survive.

Out of interest. Is there anybody here who has good firsthand knowledge of north sea oil rigs?

If you're interested...the next book, October Skies is out in August. Youtube trailer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jpKxDZWJMqI Well...rather interestingly, I just got the green light from my publisher to go and write the Last Light sequel. So, as of tomorrow, I shall commence work. If you're inter...

Yeah...I've been considering a sequel. And since the issue of PO seems to be a growing news story, I may well do.

What I don't want to do though, is appear to be cashing in on an issue. So it's something for me to carefully consider.

Yup. The price of oil has shot up since I penned the book. I'd really like to update the numbers before my publisher do a re-print.

All I do know is that there's a Spanish publisher looking to take it on.

It's only been out in paperback a week. I'm still waiting on bookscan figures from my agent. That said....there's a lot of interest. More importantly...have you seen the Independent newspaper today...big article on PO! I think we're reaching that tipping point now, where the mainstream start becomin...

This recently published book is already looking dated in one respect ! In the book oil reached $100 due to unfolding disasters in the Middle East and elswhere, its now well over $130 under normal conditions. If the events suggested in the book occured, then $400 seems probable. I know! When I was w...

LAST LIGHT - peak oil novel now in paperback

It's out today - the mass market paperback; the version the 'general public' are most likely to casually pick up and look at. You know what I mean by 'general public' don't you? The type of person who reads two books a year, both on holiday. The type of person who's only just beginning to notice tha...
