'Peak oil' doomsayers proved wrong.
Five years ago, some oil market speculators became convinced that the world was nearing the limits of oil production. Sometime soon -- the 2010s? the 2020s? -- oil production would begin a long steady decline. Think again. World oil production continues to rise. Leading the oil renaissance: the Uni...

This is my 12v back up I know it's not a deep cycle leisure battery, but maintaining one of them is something I'd probably forget. The battery booster on the other hand gets charged once a month. I use it for pumping up tyres and when I go out off road it comes with me. If like me your neighbours a...

When the lights go out.
I spent last weekend with no electricity at home. Saturday morning I dug the 4x4 out of the snow and went out to run my usual shopping list of errands at about 8am. When I got home at 11am, everything was off and my house alarm was beeping low battery. During the daylight hours it was no problem, op...

What about a air gun for those uncomfortable with 'real' guns? If they look like a gun, can do real damage, maybe that is the answer? Legal airguns (<12ft/sec I think) are quite puny. Fine for small game but wouldn't do much damage to grown adult man. Can get ones more powerful but would need licen...

Far too many people on here infected with the Smug. They seem to think that their "I'm alright Jack" attitude will see them through.
I'm sure this is the same kind of hypocritical attitude we would see on a Toyata Prius owner forum.

I just finished watching Zero Dark 30 and there is a lot of torture in there. All justified in the search of OBL of course. There's a part of the film where they lament the passing of easy torture, laws and human rights caught up with even the CIA.

Apparently British officials/soldiers killed almost twenty-seven thousand women and children in Africa: http://www.geni.com/projects/British-Concentration-Camps-of-the-South-African-War-1900-1902/854 That article quotes around another 15 000 Africans who died in the camps, but recent figures estima...
