The worst thing that could happen would be for a collapse in the pound, due to unmanageable public debt, to put a stop to all imports. Global warming or no global warming, the simple fact is that once we can't import oil, we will start to starve. Look at what happened to North Korea. ...and that's ...

As far as the private sector is concerned having unstable government finances and consequential high interest rates is bad news. If that were the case, the private sector wouldn't destabilise government finances by seeking bailouts. Plus, volatile bond government markets mean higher returns for par...

Get one of these... http://www.lifesaversystems.com/ You can run pretty much anything through it, to produce potable water. It's fine for emergencies. Stuff that's been sitting in your water bottles for years will purify down. If you need anything more, knock up a slow sand filter and a UV screener.

>Who said anything about oil companies? You didn't even check the link, did you. Duh. OK, but it doesn't matter. Energy and engineering companys alike like the peakoil meme, regardless of underlying truth. It draws attention to the idea current infrastructure needs unheaval to deal with change. And...

Er....no. The Tories were pretty open about their pact with Murdoch before the election. His media supported the Tories in exchange for cuts to the BBC and clearance for his takeover of BSkyB. Very little time left to stop him http://www.avaaz.org/en/murdoch_bskyb/ It's a foregone conclusion, thank...

>Oh, I'd love to hear your views on AGW... The usual. WUWT, david archibald, bob carter, solar cycles control climate, currently shifting into at least a 30 year cool period due to low solar actvity. International bankers massively financing the AGW movement since at least the 1980s ( george hunt e...

I've just had CW and loft insulation done at a house in the UK. It took just over a year from when I first called the Energy Saving Trust to having it done. The EST made absolutely no progress whatsoever - they told me that a survey would be undertaken within 6 months, and then failed to meet their ...

Is there any retirement age for your politicians? In a couple of years he'll be pushing 80, surely something should be put in place; especially since he managed to scrape the no confidence vote. Oh, and this. Here it's more of a case of the devil you know. The alternatives are shocking. The Lega No...

Ahem...I'll have you know that we've had an overtly oppressed media since 2005. Come come now contadino, what about the 10% of Italian media that is not owned or influenced by your pervy Prime Minister? Is there any retirement age for your politicians? In a couple of years he'll be pushing 80, sure...
