My ladder story, being powerswitch related: a couple of months ago when we had our solar pv installed I used my ladder to get up the scaffolding, taking the opportunity to clean the gutters. I left the ladder at the foot of the scaffolding, silly me. The scaffolders retuned to dismantle and took my ladder.

After a cross e-mail they returned with their lorry with three almost identical ladders and asked which was mine. Of course I knew my own and we were happy to be reunited.

Why don't you secure (glue) the ladder down to the ground, then train a camera on it? You could earn £250 by sending it in to Candid Camera :P

Update:

Adjacent farmer had his tractor damaged and its battery stolen last night.

Also a known tea-leaf was spotted lurking in his 4x4 this morning ... but drove away after 10 minutes.

Sooo ... what will we find (or not find) in our barn tomorrow morning :?

Sounds like a job for alarm mines to me.

It seems that a 'certain local community' has been overdoing the robbbing on their own doorstep.

The police then started a major operation to contain the problem : this whole area is now flooded 24/7 with police in unmarked cars.

This however has been taken as a challenge by the 'certain local community' who have now gone on a Blitzkrieg crime rampage.

4x4s are driving through farm gates and fences and anything of value is being looted.

This is happening all over, and at high intensity.

Local farmers are becoming VERY angry - one has advised me to dig a ditch along the road line, and also set RSJs into the ground.

If law and order stutter and weaken at any point then there will be open war in this rural area.

(Farmers are armed - as are the miscreants)

Rural life is not all roses around the door.
