Bristol Meeting

As far as I remember, the Bristol lot are aiming to meet on:

Date: 2nd July
Time: 7.30pm
Venue: Channings, 20 Pembroke Road, Clifton BS8 3BB - Map

I believe the venue suggested was Channings, which is a pub with a garden. Possibly in Clifton? I don't know any more than that.

hatchelt: I'm more more happy to meet to mid week for a chat, I work up near the M4/M5 junction so that area is best for me 5-7pm.

Regarding meeting, I'll try and be standing near the entrance at 7:30-7:40pm, likely to be wearing white shirt, tall, glasses, aged 27. See you there!

No time to post anything more now, but just to say that the Bristol meeting was a great success - it was excellent to put names to faces; instead of the expected four people, nine turned up; and we had lots of very interesting conversation. It's all about:
- Awareness, and...
- Building Community

People in attendance:
Reuben, Sally, Chris (clv101), Biff, Peter (and Martha!), Diane, Tallis (tattercoats), Greg

Another meet up is definitely in the offing: to be arranged...

Greg, you beat me to it. I am completely buzzed at having had the opportunity to talk with others face to face about PO subjects, and thoroughly enjoyed meeting you all. I learnt a bunch about international fiscal policy, made local connections, was given food for thought in several directions, and generally found the experience exhilerating.

good to have met so many co-peakniks at the meetup...

just thought i'd link to a post i just put onto bristol peak oilers, a yahoo group that, although it's fairly inactive, does have quite a few committed local peakniks signed up to it (i'm rubbish at running it, and really it could do with someone taking it over who knows what they're doing, and has enough spare time to do it...any offers?)

this should take you to my appeal for people to help pull together a larger meeting, aimed at starting to explore ideas such as those mentioned in the article that crash posted a few days ago...

Hi, I'm pretty new to this (Both these boards and the whole PO concept), and live in Bristol in term time. Is there any news of another meeting? I'm very VERY well versed in where Channings is

Wherever it is, I probably won't be there... because I've moved to Wiltshire (and subsequently been without net access for weeks). So I wave cheerily to all the Bristol crowd, and thank them for the meeting at Channings which I did attend, and head off to post on a different regional thread... bye, guys! Tattercoats has a garden at last! See you on the main threads!

how about arranging to meet over here in st werburghs - we could have a look around the city farm, allotments, community garden etc for some inspiration, maybe? there are also a couple of great pubs...
