Conservative party/opposition watch

What can we do to change the minds of decision makers and people in general to actually do something about preparing for the forthcoming economic/energy crises (the ones after this one!)?

Stumuz2, you sound like such a fun guy - I'm not at all surprised that you get invited to all the best parties...
I can just picture you now, spring roll in 1 hand, bottle of Budweiser in the other, the whole room hanging on every word.... . :D
As you obviously know so much, maybe you should apply to be Boris' party consultant ??
Have you thought about writing fiction? 80% of what you post is made up, devoid of content.

You think an opened packet of crisps and yet to be confirmed tinsel is controversial worldwide?
It is irrelevant worldwide. I compared it to Blair and Iraq because in both cases it was a career-ending mistake which the respective person thought he could just get away with. Both cases also involved lying to parliament.

I think Johnson is going to get away with it. There will be a price for the Tory party to pay at a later date, when the general populace get a say in things. I also think Johnson will cheerily wave two fingers at that scenario, because Johnson personally got away with it and that is all he will find relevant.

The tories aren't going to unseat a Prime Minister just as a major European war breaks out. If he's still in position in May then the tories are going to get smashed to pieces at the local elections in May, and then they will get rid of him. I'd very much like to be proved wrong on this, because the longer he stays in the job the worse the tories are likely to do at the next general election.

Crisps? Union flag icing? Standing within two meters of tinsel?

Get away with what, exactly? Names, dates, crime etc.

I don't think i have abused anyone on this forum, ever.
IMHO, when anyone turns to abuse, they have no argument, therefore, by necessary implication, they have accepted your opinion but are highly irritated that they proffered such a weak comment/argument.

That is why it is such a result for me, when abuse comes forth!

Boris Johnson 'intervened to help Russian newspaper boss Evgeny Lebedev get a peerage' after MI6 and MI5 warned that putting son of ex-KGB agent in the Lords 'was a security risk':

Boris likening Brexit to the Ukrainian war.

I completely agree with his analogy. People wanting freedom from government.
Was glad to see Donal Tusk's comments calling it 'offensive'. Such politically captured bureaucrats cannot see the wood for the trees.
