Conservative party/opposition watch

What can we do to change the minds of decision makers and people in general to actually do something about preparing for the forthcoming economic/energy crises (the ones after this one!)?

Interesting analysis from Andrew Marr. Suggests Sunak won't stand, but will ally with Hunt. If Sunak does not stand, Hunt will win. We will end up with Hunt as PM, and Sunak stays as chancellor.

Well I really do wish I knew where it is all going to end. If you know then please do
enlighten us and it would be very interesting to learn how you found out.
It ends with the amount of fossil fuels available for discretionary use reducing year on year. Have a read of the limits to growth 1972 for a quick heads up.

Nobody with an ounce of intelligence would want to be PM with the economy the way it is, and after 10 years the Tories really have no one else to blame. Not that that is going to stop most of the cabinet.

Yes.

You do not bailout and reward criminals who stole billions from the people. You print money out of thin air and financial history tells us that everything will return to mean. Always does.

We are the beginning of the stretched elastic financial band snapping back to its original shape.

No10 can't function like this, no organisation can. Johnson's team is in tatters.

Make up your minds!!
Doesn't everyone (aka 'the Westminster bubble' or 'the country' as journo's like to say they speak for) want the whole No 10 team replaced? When they walk before being pushed, Journo's scream look 'there all resigning'

Anyway, back to the national story that is on the countries mind. Did the birthday cake have a union flag iced on top? or was it merely the birthday digits iced on top? The union flag icing postulates organised party which PM must have known about and as a necessary corollary attributed a positive if not verbal acquiescence. The digit icing could be argued by objective interlocutors in an interlocutory setting that indeed, the cake with said aforementioned digit icing was an occurrence that the PM was had no mens rea consciousness, and was in fact a serious of occurrences which resulted in a coagulation of persons, and persons unknown, or persons not confirmed, or to be confirmed, if Dominic has a mind fart.

Further, a fortiori it has been confirmed that Prosseco was imbibed within the curtilage of the building called ten. It has been established by the guardians of independent and balanced Journo's (who speak for the country) that it is a universal truth, that in at all times and in all places, that if prosecco is partaken with food, then merriment was on display. It is further established that a bottle of beer and a Chinese takeaway, in no way equals merriment and is merely sustenance, which is unreservedly known by the country, allows for serious thinking on behalf of the collective.

I wonder if the thousands of anti tank weapons that Britain has sent to Ukraine are the depleted uranium type? They are a mixture of highly radioactive uranium-235 and less active U-238. U-235 is used in reactors and atomic weapons. They are a convenient way to dispose of nuclear waste.

But remember boys and girls......CAKE .....WTF was the icing? the 'country needs to know!

Blimey Stumuz, you really are scraping the barrel...

The main problem with the No 10 parties is that BoJo LIED about them, time after time, after time.
We all know Boris is a liar, and corrupt, but most people expect better of their PM.
It sets a terrible tone for the whole country (& internationally) when HMG is totally rotten at the core.
People then think that if the government doesn't follow the rules, then why should I ??
Chaos soon follows if that mindset becomes ingrained.

As for blaming the economic mess on Gordon Brown.....
The Tories have had their hands on the purse strings for 10+ years now....
For a start, where is the £350 million a week for the NHS the Brexit bus promised ?

This is a bit of a pathetic strawman. Nobody cares about what happened at the parties. Everybody knows what a party is, apart, apparently, from Boris Johnson. The problem is dishonesty and hypocrisy on a grand scale, and a total inability to take responsibility for his actions. You cannot continue to function as Prime Minister if nobody in the country believes a word you say.

Of course it's a strawman.
But who voted for the press? It's all a game. A few chosen media outlets gets exclusive access to ask questions that they choose.A free press was a virtue of a free society, but it seems that any form of genuine investigative journalism has gone out the window.

We (the west) have some serious shit coming down the line. Our press is more concerned with cake. Cake is a metaphor for the press pack.

The press isn't going on about cake. It is going on about integrity.

For me, personally, no, but I have no skin in the game.
If I'd had a dying relative at the time, I'd be very pissed off.
I'm more bothered about his many other crimes, like the corruption...

This isn't just some Westminster or media 'noise', it's about whether BoJo is fit to be PM.
As you say, we have some serious shit coming down the line and BoJo aint the man to deal with it...
For a start, the Russians laughing at him isn't a good sign...

When have the recent batch of politicians ever had integrity. Remember the Bradford grooming gangs? Remember when politicians, institutions, BBC, looked the other way?

Integrity. Just off to get a bucket to throw up in.
