First robot sent into examine melted core expires after 3 hours.

It was expected to survive 10 hours.

It is going to take some seriously hardened electronics and centuries to clean up this mess.

Or an entirely mechanical fossil fueled robot with pneumatic control lines and a fibre optic link back to the control room.
