Whereas I think that the Monsantos of this world look at the tiny corner of the market that RealSeeds have and, after a quick look at the costs involved really couldn't justify getting involved at all. It's not their target market and there is precious little profit in for such large corporations.

We shall see. If the regulations pass and RealSeeds haven't been put out of business in 5 years you can re-consider your paranoia.

And vice versa of course.

Spent a bit of time this afternoon making this page slightly less crappy:

http://open-seeds.org/bad-seed-law/

Hopefully even easier to annoy the bureaucrats!

Featherstick: I nicked your email for the site as it was better than mine. Hope you don't mind.

Garden Organic also have a campaign against it, as it affects the Heritage Seed Library.

Nice work Sam.

People on the right side of this debate may be pleased to learn that one of the speakers at the conference I'm organising next month is Peter Brinch of Open Pollinated Seeds.

One of your e-mail addresses is broken too Sam!
Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently:

Gunther.Oettinger@ec.europa.eu

Technical details of permanent failure:
Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the server for the recipient domain ec.europa.eu by s-dc-edg008-q.mail.ec.europa.eu. [147.67.249.6].

The error that the other server returned was:
550 5.1.1 User unknown
But you can contact him here!
http://ec.europa.eu/commission_2010-201 ... dex_en.htm

I wonder how many people will e-mail every commissioner? I started losing the will to live towards the end, even though I edited the suggested e-mail so the only bit I had to change was Dear Commissioner xxx. But I stuck with it because it's so important :D.

JSD regrettably I think you are being naive. This legislation is just like a thug standing outside your door saying "Nah mate, I ain't gunna do nuffin' just wanna talk, know wot I mean?"

I will write to the commissioners, but to those who have yet to write, keep it very short, don't waste words, keep it simple. The comissioners' first language is mostly not English, and they will be getting hundreds of emails. I suspect they may have filters which means they may not even see most of them.

I think I fixed that one on Featherstick's advice.

Since you did it I have added a easy 'email them all' button!

Getting about 5-8 emails an hour at the moment from those that choose to CC me.

So I guess same again that don't?

<edit Gone up to 10-12 hour since. (90% Dutch users on iPads. Not sure why!)

Best

Sam

Thanks

It's been spreading around Facebook Sam. Three different people, including me, posted it in one group! I think I've got one Dutch friend, so it may have been him doing a good job!

I de-crappyfied the page slightly more: http://open-seeds.org/bad-seed-law/

Including adding a additional option to email MEP's if you haven't already done so: http://open-seeds.org/bad-seed-law/#MEP
