In that it is something we read on the internet I would not necessarily take this at face value.

If we assume it is a genuine report from a genuine medic then we need to read what he actually is saying.

He is saying that the virus is spreading like wildfire, official reports are 3 days out of date, and one person (other than the toddler who died) is seriously ill.

In other words, it is a highly infectious, but not highly deadly form of flu. If the accusation is that official reporting of the rate of spread is deliberately slow, that would seem reasonable at this stage as

1. there is nothing to be done about it
2. There is no point in spreading unnecessary panic until the lethality of the flu can be estimated.

Clearly, the original post predates the death of the toddler yesterday.

I bit of digging and this looks like a real medic and a real post. A longer
version of the email included this
Oscillococinum, a homeopathic remedy, has been vindicated as quite effective in a large clinical trial in Europe, with an H1N1 variant
I wouldn't take too much notice of a doctor advocating homeopathic medicine to treat a life threatening pandemic.

I wouldn't take too much notice of anyone on a government payroll threatening a pandemic. They've been crying wolf every time other areas of news look iffy for years.

Quite. Frankly, any doctor recommending homeopathic "medicine" should be struck off.

What a bag of tosh. I know people in Texas. I'm not hearing about 28 days later happening down there.

This isn't an EOTWAWKI website but an anti-NWO platform for Alex Jones.

Jones, and his followers, believe that climate change, peak oil, the credit crunch and problems such as swine flu are either fiction or engineered (in the case of swine flu) and form part of the NWO/Bilderburg agenda to control our lives (hence the name of the site - 'PrisonPlanet').

If someone is an ardent follower of Jones then you can forget rational debate with them on most subjects even if you might agree with some of the issues Jones raises. For instance, it doesn't matter how many conspiracies you believe in, if you also believe PO and climate change are 'real' then you are a tool of the NWO and not to be trusted.

Tosh.

Flu death toll 'less than feared'
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/8030365.stm

"Health Minister Jose Angel Cordova told the BBC that, based on samples tested, the mortality rate was comparable with that of seasonal flu."
"When the facts change, I change my opinion. What do you do, sir?"
John Maynard Keynes.
