Have a read of this. It's the most 'complete' analysis of the last few years of British politics I've read. So much better than what our media seem willing and able to offer up.

So what?

Before anything else need be said, it should be noted that there has always been an age difference in voting patterns. However, it is hardly surprising that the difference may be particularly striking at this moment. We have had three years of relentless, disgusting propaganda pitting the young against old, black against white, women against men, south against north and, fundamentally, petite bourgeoisie against proletariat via all of the previous identities mentioned. So much so that this country is now a tinder box.

The reason the young have been targeted is simple. They are the easiest to bullshit because they don't yet know their arses from their elbows, politically speaking. Mainly because they have yet to gain several decades of experience of the lies and deceit and so become hardened to it. However, even that propaganda push has been on only partially successful. Go to any area outside of the University cities and check out what young people think and you'll find a very different story.

This is about what it has always been about. Economics and liberty.

Well said LJ.

I was a typical PC liberal moron when I was a student.

Having regretted voting us into the EC in my mid twenties, despite being a life long Tory, I would say that the voting age should revert to the Roman era age of 30, by which time people should have received the experience quoted above. Perhaps immigrants should only be allowed to vote after ten years residence so that they have had time to absorb some of what makes this country the great place that it is.

It would save time an money as well by reducing the number of voters drastically.
