New nuclear reactors in Cumbria

Is nuclear fission going to make a comeback and plug the gap in our energy needs? Will nuclear fusion ever become energetically viable?

Land purchased for planned new nuclear reactors. The article is clearly a straight press release with lots of unconditional statements.

What is the Westinghouse reactor design, and what is the timeline for this development? I assume it is many years away, as it is 10 years old already.

First line:
The site of a £10bn nuclear power plant in Cumbria ...
Hold it right there. Where can you buy a nuclear power station for a mere £10bn these days? cf Hinkley C.

Last line:
Each of the reactors will take about four years to build.
And it's not even April Fool's Day.
