Dietz, a well known American brand of oil lantern offer the Jupiter oil lantern.
This is a fairly standard design of hurricane lamp but with a very oversized oil reservoir. It holds over 2 litres of paraffin, and runs for 75 hours without refilling. Light output is about 12 to 14 candle power or about 150 lumens. Heat output is about 400 watts.
Uses a fairly standard 23mm flat wick. Keep spares.
Light output and heat output are both about twice that expected from a standard sized hurricane lamp.
The very large base/oil tank makes the lantern stable and hard to to tip over.
If only illumination is required, then a modern LED lamp powered by D cells might be a better choice.
In many emergencies, heat is also required and one or more of these lanterns could be very valuable.
In severe weather I use one in my downstairs toilet which is vulnerable to frost damage.
Paraffin is the correct fuel, in an emergency, diesel fuel may be used, or jet fuel or heating oil. NEVER USE PETROL, AVGAS, OR COLEMAN FUEL, A SERIOUS ACCIDENT IS ALMOST CERTAIN.
These are not widely sold in the UK but can be found with a bit of searching. The unspeakable tax avoiders have them but very expensive.

Long run time oil lamp
"Installers and owners of emergency diesels must assume that they will have to run for a week or more"
