It is a very sad situation we have arrived at. The concept of general European Union was such a good idea, ruined by politics, or more specifically by those seeking power through the politicising and then monetising of the EU. :( Obviously now, a fatally failed project. :( The 4th of December is loo...

This is why people did and SHOULD vote for Trump. Watch the 2 minute video he put out on the Sunday before the election. Play it a couple of times to take it all in. Then read Daniel Amerman's short analysis and then watch it again. I don't know about you, but he makes it crystal clear to me and I a...

Now this has got a lot more exciting!

Bad news for Clinton as FBI reopen her email investigation - this is a remarkable step to take 10 days before the election!

I believe the Govt covers the costs but as you can imagine it takes a long time until payment materialises.

That makes me mad. We really need a lot of lampposts... :(

Which is a terrible thing to say, but terrible crimes need terrible responses.

I think having money in so called precious metals is an illusion, since the metals are "held" in an electronic record. The only way to have the metals is in their physical state in your posession. Then there are the problems of security, and how to realise the value of them in a collapsed...

Whenever I consider buying any gold or silver I ask myself Why if paper currency will soon be useless do the dealers sell me their gold for those paper dollars? Because that is what they do to make a living and we all have to live in the BAU world until it is no longer BAU - then they will close up...

Gold and Silver fell through the floor yesterday. No major reasons why - other than a lot of selling due to stop losses in my opinion. I expect them both to shoot right up by the end of the week. If the US non-farm payroll figures disappoint on Friday, they could end the week very nicely. :-) This m...

I think it sensible to keep more cash than Adam has suggested - just my opinion. My concern is that a hard crash, quote likely caused by the financial system failing and thus cash machines stopping could cause major problems. Cash will be useful for some time and people will quickly find ways round ...

I think it is sensible to stash some cash. We got to within hours of the cash machines stopping in the UK (the West?) in 2008. Alistair Darling, Labour Chancellor of the Exchequer, admitted that in a TV interview. In my opinion, the next crash will be bigger than the last one and much more disruptiv...

Yes, it is called Freehold. Lots of properties are freehold, including mine. You have made a lot of very good contributions to this forum VT, but sometimes I feel you need to update your ideas on the UK. :-) Going back to 1776 to say what you learnt from the British is a bit lame in my books. If you...

I have been mulling this "warning to prepare" over in my mind for the last few days. There are a few conspiracy theories/ideas out there as always, that I will not go into. But I think it is most likely due to increased tensions between the Russian Federation and NATO. The risk of war has ...

In the absence of The Family (away on hols with in-laws) I've been going through our food cupboards eating up everything that's gone time-expired. The most venerable items (that I ate) dated back to 2007! I find I can't do this when The Family are here because they tend to prise cans of time-expire...

Unless they are expecting massive levels of jihad, I find this advice quite strange.

I think it is a cover for something else. Don't know what though. :?:

I believe the term Global Warming was changed (by the IPCC?) to Climate Change when some global cooling occurred.
