Maybe this should be on the 'confessional' thread but I've no idea how much electricity I'm actually using. We do keep all the bills filed away so could check, we pay a monthly direct debit of ?39.00 and have recently started using a few long-life   light bulbs and will switch to these f...

I suppose as a group we've all gone further along those preparations and have less to tell each other, besides the current geopolitical situ and oil price situ are relatively stable - so the debates have become rather more esoteric, and the differences between us have risen to the surface. Whereeve...

I thought it was their long term pension liabilities that were the problem. As it is with GM - in the US at any rate. Whereas overseas expendable cheap labour, be that outsourced or competitors alike, doesn't have this issue.

"Unmentioned till now is Hugo Chavez, and Venezuela. Russia has supplied Hugo with 55 Mig29SMTs, Russia?s latest air superiority fighter." Actually, they've just started to take delivery of Sukhoi 30s - (Flankers). I have some pics here - if I knew how to post them. Interestingly, the Mexi...

You can buy one from here: http://www.cafepress.com/peakoilaware Or you can make your own. Use and/or modify a design such as the one * here * , and e-mail it to a T-shirt print shop (the "Arm/Leg" bit needs to look more like a petrol station price board). I made my own because the CafePr...

Where can I buy a Peak Oil T shirt?

Only thing is, would it contravene airline policy or offend the other passengers :)

Yeh - should have remembered to list the cash one because the ATMs ran out in the Sept 2000 fun and games. "Beer used to be drunk instead of water in older times because it was safer". A huge beer stash (and cash reserve) as a necessary preparation for PO? :D Now you're talking - who said ...

Jonny and Carveup, Your comments get to why I posted in the first place, because I can see the contradiction all too clearly... See, my name's Mr Mustard, and I'm just another selfish oil addict. It all started when I was a kid with plastic toys and it went downhill from there... I only got my first...

Which reminds me - through RAF contacts I was lucky enough to blag a trip on a VC10 a few years back. Flying a racetrack pattern around the North Sea, with 20 or so GR4s F3s and Jags for company. :) A superb spotters day out, but now I shudder to think how many tons of avgas was burnt up on just tha...

Forgive me, for I am sinning - one last time. I have just bought a long haul airline ticket to go see a very good friend in Buenos Aires. While I still can. I do have mixed feelings here and appreciate the flight is costing far more than just the airfare. At least through PO awareness I appreciate h...

For Sally and others interested in the diabetic issues - http://www.dafne.uk.com/ will be of interest to type 1s, the equivalent patient self-management regime for type 2s is DESMOND, try googling it. Maybe the moderator could post these into a new Diabetics and PO thread? For me, just one of many i...
