A little bit of knowledge is dangerous thing. The BoE accepts 4 types of money, M1-4. That article doesnt say what you think it says, to be fair its clunky as hell, but the point stands. When a bank makes a loan, for example to someone taking out a mortgage to buy a house, it does not typically do s...

I still dont get why you view borrowing a seed, growing ten seeds and paying two seeds back as good, but replacing seed with pound is evil.... But you stll dont get the FR system. Theres absolutely nothing stopping me depositing £100 with ZOPA, lending myself £100, depositing that £100 and so on. Ba...

True, but a bit complex for the likes of Steve ZOPA is actually a bond exchange, but if we gloss over that, it could be viewed as a zero reserve bank, in that they hold no reserves with which to repay deposits (because of course, they do not accept deposits). You can sell your entire loan book Dont ...

Rationing We actually do have rationing, rationing by price, if you can afford it, you can have it, if you cant, you cant. Rationing by committee is all well and good, but whats the "right" amount of paperclips for a 4.4 family? Whats the "fair" amount? How do you make people do ...

On just hearing about this, I must confess to feeling a bit twitchy about it if it is a system of lending at interest. Once again, it just seems like yet another scheme whereby people are encouraged to extract rent from one another since this is the only game left in town now that we don't appear t...

Fruit production at Castle Dominic was poor this year. Three cherry trees produced three cherries and the rest of the fruit shrubs made a solitary fruit crumble. Slugs were up too, although I have found that if you stab them with a stick at night when you put the chickens to bed, the next wave of sl...

RB Wasnt saying you were wrong, more just musing its odd. Why would Turkey willingly be "false flagged"? Especialy given Madcaps official position is I'mADinnerJacket is Turkeys best friend, and I'mADinnerJacket is Syrias only friend. Its not like Russia doesnt have a dog in this fight eit...

Really?
I'm no expert at it.
I get it with monopoly, although I once won by default when the clear winner gave up after I held on for 6 hours.

I've started buying up old board games.
Not "just" for po reasons, its just nice to have something grown up to do with friends after food that doesnt involve the television.
Its amazing how few are still actually made.

Rasp
It does seem quite unlikely that Syria would be picking fights with Turkey, but by the same argument, why would free Syria?

What "covet" support is the FSA receiving?
Sending them armour and radios might be foolish, but its hardly secret
