Nobody in their right mind talks about 'the end of the world'. The world will carry on. It's looked after itself for a long time and will always do so. That would suggest everyone here is in their right mind? If you like, though that's not what I meant. Sorry...back to the serious top...

The problem John, is that because you are part of the establishment, you are unable to read coherently as you only want to understand the way you were brought up to understand. It is called indoctrination. But when you have been successfully indoctrinated, you cannot see it! QED It is Catch...

Hi Snow...yep, I was under the impression Sydney was going to be a desert in 20 years before we came over. Never seen so much rain...and we've not had that much here!

How are things over there?

Re: Predictions, 2008

Well, it's that time of year and someone on another forum had the bright idea of dragging up last year's predictions....so here's mine for me to laugh at in 12 months time. - Credit crunch to go up several notches in the 1st quarter - Some big brands to go bust or have serious problems (Woolies, Bo...

Interesting. The Aussie government is trying to do the same over here in a round about way - everyone HAS to get 9% paid in by their employer by law so there's a stack of money 'waiting in the wings'. Aussie banks owe something like $400bn to foreign lenders on short-term loans so when the next cred...

They really are burning their bridges.

Get used to it, they'll tax you on everything and they'll sell everything to someone to charge you to use what you paid for in the first place.

Quality of life in the UK is only going one way as far as I can tell.

Do you really think the economy's anything like near to picking up where it was? I don't, the places that make things (Japan, Germany etc) have slumped 10, 20%...that's a lot of activity not happening. Just look at shipping... The next leg is coming due to the credit taps being switched off, not th...

Very good point! When do you think the next leg down will be? How's Aus? Hi Snow...good over here thanks. Middle of winter, been in shorts most of the time :-) Will ping you an email. As for timing of next leg down, err, I've been pontificating long enough now to know not to try to get too accurate...

Brown's right. If/when the economy picks up and tries to use anything like the amount of oil we used last summer the price will rocket. Do you really think the economy's anything like near to picking up where it was? I don't, the places that make things (Japan, Germany etc) have slumped 10, 20%...t...

Looking for an excuse already for the coming next leg down...nothing to do with them taking on too much debt and not being able to take on much more and therefore having to let reality arrive.

Crikey, I go away for a few months and you're still thinking everything happened because oil prices went up.

Nowt to do with the theft of trillions in future earnings by bankers then?

Jeez...have to say wise words from RGR, quite scary he's on the banned list!

See you again in a few months!
